A Resolution from the Adams County Republican Party
National Popular Vote Compact

Whereas the Adams County Republican Party believes that the founders of these United States acknowledged that the election of the United States President provides a protection of the citizens vote within the structure of the current Electoral College through an Elector who has pledged to vote for a specific person for President; and
Whereas the Adams County Republican Party believes that the interests of ALL states are protected against the tyranny of our most populous states, and encourages all candidates for our highest office in the land to seek approval from voters in ALL states, as guaranteed within the structure of the current Electoral College; and
Whereas in the 2016 Platform of the Republican National Committee, clearly states its opposition to the National Popular Vote (as expressed in Colorado SB19-042 and signed by the Governor), and supports the Electoral College as written in the United States Constitution. Let it be known that the Adams County Republican Party fully supports the 2016 Platform and its support of the United States Constitution, as stated in Article 2, Section 1, the XII Amendment and Section 2 of the XIV Amendment.
Whereas the Adams County Republican Party and those held by a majority of the citizens of Colorado, do not wish to cede the votes in Colorado to states with large metropolitan centers.
Therefore, be it Resolved, that the Adams County Republican Party does not support this new law known as the National Popular Vote law, and strongly urges all the citizens in Colorado to sign a petition to put a measure on the 2019 ballot would give the registered voters of Colorado the opportunity to vote either for or against this legislation mandated by the Colorado State Legislature. Let it be known that the Adams County Republican Party fully supports the US Constitution (Article 2, Section 1, the XII Amendment and Section 2 of the XIV Amendment) which prescribes the method of electing the President of the United States.
Therefore, the Adams County Republican Party asks the Adams County voters to SUPPORT and SIGN the petition that will place the repeal of the National Popular Vote Compact on the November 2019 ballot.
This statement is offered in the interest of good government, and without consideration of any partisan motives.
